Residential Moving

Containerized Housing Systems

Invented over 50 years ago, the conex, or shipping container, has revolutionized the world trade industry. Nearly indestructible, the solid framework makes it resistant to mold, fire, termites and rodents. Now these same portable shipping containers are changing the way we think about housing. With the world focus on “Green Technology” and the emphasis on energy efficiency, water conservation, and the use of sustainable and chemically free building materials to minimize the environmental impact,
it is worth noting that estimates suggest structures comprised of modified shipping containers and metal bins contain approximately 75% recycled materials when measured by the weight of the building.

It is not surprising that ISO containers, due to their structural integrity, and ability to provide a sustainable and environmentally friendly edifice, have become a popular choice for prefab construction. Southwest Mobile Storage specializes in modifying and fabricating ISO containers into various structures. Structures that we have built include multi-unit offices, housing complexes, fire & SWAT training structures and single unit military base camps. Affordable, portable and aesthetically pleasing, our shipping containers can be expertly modified to include a wide range of options. Whether you require a mini-office or a mobile, doublewide custom designed workplace, Southwest Mobile Storage can design and build it to your specifications and install it on your site.
